Tonight's Game -- Tonight is the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it hosts the Otterbein University.  BW opened up the 2018 season with an impressive 63-21 victory over Alma (Mich.) College.  Otterbein held off Ohio Wesleyan University with a 10-7 weather filled in its season opener.

Series Notes -- BW and Otterbein are meeting for the 51st time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets hold a 36-12-1 all-time series lead but the Cardinals have won five of the last six meetings.  Last season, Otterbein posted a 37-29 victory in Westerville. The series began in 1925 with the Yellow Jackets defeating the Cardinals, 7-0, in Berea. 

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert:  Hilvert is in his second season at BW and has a record of 7-4 and OAC slate of 5-4. He is 74-23 in his 10th overall season and is 0-1 against Otterbein. 

Otterbein Head Coach Tom Doup: Doup is in his seventh season at Otterbein and has a career record of 31-25 and an OAC record of 29-21.  He is 5-1 vs. Baldwin Wallace.

Last Meeting vs. OTT -- October 21, 2017: BW scored 29 points on 325 yards passing and 98 yards rushing for 423 yards of total offense. Otterbein scored 37 points on 368 yards rushing and 185 yards passing for 553 yards of total offense.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets:  In week one of the season, BW scored 63 points on 337 yards passing and 234 yards rushing for a 571 yards of total offense. Alma (Mich.) scored 21 points on 290 yards passing and 66 yards passing for 356 yards of total offense.

BW Leaders: Offensively, senior quarterback Jake Hudson (East Lake, Fla.) has completed 20 of 28 passes for 225 yards with four touchdowns.  Sophomore running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) leads the ground attack with 99 yards on 12 carries with a long of 26 yards. Senior wide out Rob Wolfington (Rapids City, Mich./Elk Rapids) leads the receiving corps with five catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns.  Defensively, junior linebacker Josh Liberati (Lisbon/David Lisbon) and junior defensive back Matt Dunning (Corapolis, Pa./Moon Area) top the team with eight tackles.  Senior defensive end Wezlee Spence (North Canton/Hoover) is third with seven stops but leads the squad with 1.5 quarterback sacks.

Scouting the Cardinals: Otterbein scored 10 points on 104 yards rushing and 107 yards passing for 211 yards of total offense.  Ohio Wesleyan scored seven points on 21 yards rushing and 189 yards passing for 210 yards of total offense.

Otterbein Leaders:  Offensively, senior quarterback Steve Irwin has completed 11 of 23 passes for 62 yards with one interception.  Senior running back Dakota Smith leads the ground attack with 45 yards on 22 carries with one touchdown. Sophomore wide out George Redding is the top target with five catches for 39 yards.  Defensively, junior linebacker Ryan Tuchow  leads the team with 10 tackles and two quarterback sacks.
