Women’s Golfers Brave Weather, Finish 11th at OWU Bump Invitational

OSTRANDER, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team placed 11th at the weather-shortened, 18-hole Ohio Wesleyan University Laura Bump Invitational Tournament at the Mill Creek Golf Club. It was BW's third of five spring events. The collegiate golf season is split into a fall and spring schedule.

The tournament was scheduled to be 36-holes but was shortened to just 18 after the snow cancelled Saturday's first round.  BW carded a team score of 383 strokes and placed 11th of 16 total teams on the par-72 and 5,834-yard Mill Creek G.C. layout.

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Madison Trenkamp (Villa Hills, Ky./ Villa Madonna Academy) who carded a career-low 87 to tie for 19th place individually of 88 total golfers and tied for third among Ohio Athletic Conference linksters.

In addition to Trenkamp, senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC student-athlete Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) had a 91 to tie for 34th,  freshman Erinn Maynard (New London) had a 101 to place in a tie for 68th, freshman Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.) had a 104 and placed in a tie for 74th and senior Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) had a 106 to tie for 79th.

Also, junior Kelsey Johnson (Carmel, INd./ Park Tudor) played as an individual and shot a 116 to place 84th.

The Yellow Jackets return to action next Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17 when BW Plays at The College of Wooster Spring Invitational at Mohican Hills Golf Club in Jeromesville, Ohio.
