Women Golfers Place Second at Weather Shortened Mount Union Spring Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished second at the weather shortened University of Mount Union Spring Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Course.

The tournament was scheduled to be 36-holes but was shortened to just 18 after the snow fall overnight.  Saturday's first round counts as the final totals.

BW finished second of four teams with a round of 392 on the par-72 and 6,008-yard Tannenhauf layout.  Mount Union won the team title with a round of 350.

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC student-athlete Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) as she placed seventh of 22 golfers with a round of 94.

Vidmar was followed by freshman Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y. / Skaneateles) as she finished tied for eighth with a round of 97.  Freshman Madison Trenkamp (Villa Hills, Ky. / Villa Madonna Academy) fired a round of 100 and senior Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) was one shot behind Maynard with a round of 101.  Rounding out the five-player squad, freshman Erinn Maynard (New London) shot a round of 105.

In addition, junior Kelsey Johnson (Carmel, Ind. / Park Tudor) playing as an individual had a round of 130.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 9-10 when they travel to Ostrander to compete in the Laura Bump Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at the Mill Creek Golf Club.
