Women’s Golf Team Stands Sixth After Second Day of OAC Tourney

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio-- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team stands sixth after the second of the three-day and 54-hole 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament at the River Greens Golf Club. The final day of competition is tomorrow, Sunday, May 1.  The winner of the OAC Tournament advances to the 2016 NCAA Division III National Tournament.

The Yellow Jackets carded 389 strokes on the first day and 377 on the second for a 36-hole total of 766 strokes on the par-72 and 5,900-yard River Greens G.C. layout to stand sixth of eight teams.

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC student-athlete Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) with a 92 on the first day and a 92 on the second for a 36-hole total of 184 strokes. She was followed by freshman Madison Trenkamp (Villa Hills, Ky. / Villa Madonna Academy) with a 98 and 92 for 190,  senior Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) with a 96 and 95 for 191, freshman teammate Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.) with a 103 and 98 for 201 and junior Kelsey Johnson (Carmel, Ind./ Park Tudor) with a 117 and 113 for 230.
