Women’s Golfers Finish 13th at Denison Fall Invitational

GRAVILLE, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished 13th at the 2015 season-opening Denison University Lynn Schweizer Fall Invitational at the Denison Golf Club. It is the first of four fall tournaments for the Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jackets finished in 13th of 15 teams and fired rounds of 376 and 378 for a two-day and 36-hole total of 714 strokes on the par-71 and 5,530-yard Denison G.C. layout. Wittenberg was the team champion with a total of 619 strokes.  

Senior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC player Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) and freshman Madison Trenkamp (Willa Hills, Ky./ Villa Madonna Academy) tied for the Yellow Jacket individual lead with 36-hole totals of 186 strokes. Vidmar had rounds of 96 and 90 for her 186-stroke total, and Trenkamp had rounds of 98 and a team-low 88 en route to her 186-stroke total.

In addition, freshman Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y) was third with rounds of 104 and 93 fr a 197-stroke total, senior Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) had rounds of 110 and 104 for a 214 total amnd freshman.  

The Yellow Jackets return to play on Saturday and Sunday, September 12-13 when they travel to Powell, Ohio to play in the Ohio Wesleyan University Fall Invitational at the Safari Golf Club.
