Women’s Golfers Finish Sixth at Ohio Wesleyan Fall Invitational

POWELL, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished sixth at the 2015 Ohio Wesleyan University Fall Invitational Tournament at the Safari Golf Club. It is the second of five  fall tournaments for the Yellow Jackets. 

The Yellow Jackets finished in sixth of 10 teams and fired a season-low round of 366 on the first day and a 375 on the second for a two-day and 36-hole total of 741 strokes on the par-72 and 5,823-yard Safari G.C. layout. The College of Wooster was the team champion with a total of 650 strokes.

Senior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC player Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) led the Yellow Jackets individually with 36-hole totals of 176 strokes to place in a tie for 19th overall. Vidmar had a pair of rounds of 88 to set a season-low.

In addition, senior Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) was was second for BW and tied for 27th overall with rounds of a career-low 88 and a 95 for a 183-stroke total, freshman Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.) had rounds of 94 and 96 for a 190-stroke total to place in a tie for 39th overall, and freshman Erinn Maynard (New London) had rounds of 96 and 96 for a 192-stroke total to place in a tie for 41st overall.   

The Yellow Jackets return to action this Sunday and Monday, September 20-21 when they travel to Hudson, Ohio to play at the 2015 John Carroll University Fall Invitational Tournament at the Country Club of Hudson.
