Schill Earns First Career OAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball sophomore guard Riley Schill (Sheffield Village/Elyria Catholic) has been chosen as the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

Schill earns her first weekly honor following back-to-back career performances as the Yellow Jackets improved to 11-6 overall and 7-3 in the OAC. The sophomore averaged 20.5 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per contest and 5.5 assists per game in the week's two wins.

In the win over John Carroll University on Wednesday, Schill scored a career-high 17 points, grabbed a career-high six rebounds and dished out five assists, including shooting 11-of-14 from the free throw line. She backed up that performance by setting another career-high on Saturday in the win over Muskingum University, scoring 24 points along with a career-high tying six rebounds and six assists.

This season, Schill is averaging career-highs in scoring and rebounding with 10.6 points per game and 2.9 rebounds per game. She leads the team and the OAC in assists with 67, leads the team with 21 steals and is second in scoring with 181 total points.

For her career, Schill has appeared in 43 games and made all 17 starts this season. She averages 7.7 points per game and 2.1 rebounds per contest. Schill has dished out 107 assists to go with 42 steals. Last season, she was named to the Ohio Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team.

Schill and the Yellow Jackets will hit the road for two games next week with its first stop being in Tiffin on Wednesday, January 24, at 7:30 p.m. inside Seiberling Gymnasium as BW looks to avenge an earlier loss to the Student Princes.
