BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference guard Katie Smith (Fairview Park/Fairview) has been named to the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 Team.

Smith was named to the second team as District 7 was the only district to have enough nominees to qualify for a second team.

An athletic training and pre-physical therapy major, Smith carries a 3.99 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a candidate to be a three-time Academic All-OAC selection. Smith is also a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha and Dayton C. Miller Honor Societies and a member of the Collegiate Organizations of Athletic Student Trainers (COAST) and the Pre-Physical Therapy Club.

This season, Smith averaged career-highs in scoring (6.5 points per game), field goal percentage (42.2 percent), rebounding (2.2 rebounds per game), assists (1.3 assists per game) and steals (0.5 steals per game). She also led the team and the Ohio Athletic Conference in three-point percentage, shooting at a 47.4 percent clip from beyond the arc.

For her career, Smith appeared in 92 games, making 70 starts, and averaged 5.3 points per game, 1.9 rebounds per game, 1.0 assists per game and a 41.6 three-point shooting percentage.

BW finished the 2017-18 season with a 15-11 record and an 11-7 mark in the OAC before falling in the OAC Quarterfinals.
