Eight Women's Basketball Student-Athletes Named to Academic All-OAC Team

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Eight Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball student-athletes have been selected to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Senior guard Katie Smith (Fairview Park/Fairview), senior forward Megan Schubert (Defiance/Ayersville), junior forward Rachel Womeldorf (Lewis Center/Olentangy), sophomore All-OAC guard Riley Schill (Sheffield Lake/Elyria Catholic), sophomore guard Kasey Hughes (Springboro), sophomore guard/forward Kara Marshall (Copley/Akron Archbishop Hoban), sophomore forward Autumn Richards (Northfield/Nordonia) and transfer sophomore guard/forward Mary Schentur (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) are eight of the 24 winter student-athletes to be recognized. 

Smith, who earns her third straight Academic All-OAC honor, is a pre-physical therapy and athletic training double major who carries a 3.90 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, members of both the Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller Honor Societies and a member of the Collegiate Organizations of Athletic Student Trainers (COAST) and the Pre-Physical Therapy Club. For her career, Smith appeared in 92 games, making 70 starts, and averaged 5.3 points per game, 1.9 rebounds per game, 1.0 assists per game and a 41.6 three-point shooting percentage.

Schubert, who garners her first Academic All-OAC accolade, is an exercise science major who carries a 3.54 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Schubert appeared in 89 games with two starts and averaged 1.9 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Womeldorf, who was selected to her second straight Academic All-OAC team, is a math and education double major who carries a 3.92 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, the treasurer of the SAAC, a member of the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society and a member of Teaching Together. For her career, Womeldorf has appeared in 80 games with 36 starts and averages 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game.

Schill, who earns her first Academic All-OAC honor, is a biology major who carries a 3.98 GPA. An All-OAC honorable mention this season, she is a Dean's List student and a member of the Honors program. In just two seasons, Schill has appeared in 52 games, making 26 starts, and averages 8.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game.

Hughes, who garners her first Academic All-OAC accolade, is a public relations major who carries a 3.82 GPA. She is a Dean's List student and a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) club. For her career, Hughes has appeared in 46 games with 45 starts and averages 5.2 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.8 steals per game. 

Marshall, who was selected to her first Academic All-OAC team, is a pre-physical therapy major who carries a 3.61 GPA. She is a Dean's List student and a member of the Pre-Physical Therapy club. Marshall has appeared in 51 games in her career, making five starts, and averages 4.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game along with shooting 40.2 percent from the floor. 

Richards, who earns her first Academic All-OAC honor, is a sport management major who carries a 3.69 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a member of the Honors program, a member of the Sport Management club and a SAAC member. For her career, Richards has appeared in 13 games, scoring five points, grabbing five rebounds and blocking three shots.

Schentur, who garners her first Academic All-OAC accolade, is a mathematical economics major who carries a 3.69 GPA. A Dean's List student, Schentur appeared in all 26 games in her first season with the Brown and Gold and averaged 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game along with a 42.4 three-point shooting percentage, fifth best in the OAC.
