JACOB BURK CAREER SYNOPSIS:  Jacob Burk swam for four years and earned four varsity letters at Baldwin Wallace University (2013-2017). He is one of the best male middle and distance swimmers to ever compete at BW. Jacob was a two-time Ohio Athletic Conference champion, earned All-OAC honors (top three at OAC Championship Meet) six times, was a three-time OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week and set four school records.

ACADEMIC HONORS:  Jacob was a Dean's List student. 

TWO OAC TITLES:  Jacob won the Ohio Athletic Conference title in the 1650-yard freestyle as a freshman (16:25.81) in 2013-2014 and as a junior (16:38.81) in 2015-2016.

SIX-TIME ALL-OAC HONOREE:   As a freshman in 2013-2014, Jacob earned All-OAC honors in the 1650-yard freestyle (first/ OAC champion) and 400-yard individual medley (third). As a sophomore in 2014-2015, he earned All-OAC honors in the 1650-yard freestyle (third). As a junior in 2015-2016, Jacob earned All-OAC honors in the 1650-yard freestyle (first/ OAC champion) and 400-yard IM (third). As a senior in 2016-2017, he earned All-OAC accolades in the 1650-yard free (second place).

THREE-TIME OAC SWIMMER OF THE WEEK AWARDS:  As a freshman in 2013-2014, Jacob was the OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week on November 4, 2013. He earned his second OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week award on February 3, 2014. He earned third OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week Award on February 9, 2017.

MULTIPLE SCHOOL RECORDS:  Jacob owns four BW school records: 500 free (4:47.78 at the 2016 OAC Championship Meet),  1000 free (9:55.51 split during the 1650-yard free at the 2014 OAC Championship Meet), 1650 free (16:25.81 at the 2014 OAC Championship Meet) and 400 IM (4:11.89 at 2016 OAC Championship Meet).  

THROUGH-THE-YEARS:  As a freshman in 2013-2014, Jacob competed in his first year of swimming and earned his first versity letter. He won one OAC individual title (1650-yard freestyle), earned All-OAC honors in two events (400-yard IM and 1650-yard freestyles), set two school records (1000 and 1650-yard freestyles) and twice was named as the OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week.

As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Jacob competed in his second season of swimming and earned his second letter. He earned All-OAC honors in the 1650-yard freestyle (third) at the 2015 OAC Championship Meet. He also had career-best times in the 50-yard freestyle (25.24 seconds) and 500 free (4:49.85). 

As a junior in 2015-2016, Jacob competed in his third season of swimming and earned his third letter. He won his second career OAC title in the 1650-yard free (first in 16:38.81) and fifth All-OAC honor overall in the 400-yard IM (third in 4:11.89).

As a senior in 2016-2017, Jacob competed in his fourth season of swimming and earned his fourth letter. He was the OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week on February 9, 2017. Jacob earned All-OAC honors in the 1650-yard free when he placed second/ runner-up at the 2017 OAC Championship Meet.

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS:  Jacob was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, the SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisoty Committee), a Fellow at the Center of Innovation & Growth, Farmer Jacket and the Enviromental Awareness Club.
