Burk Garners Third Career OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week Accolade

UNIONTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference freestyler Jacob Burk (Bowling Green) has been selected as the OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for his efforts in a non-conference dual meet last week.

Burk, who garners his third career OAC weekly honor and his first since his freshman season, won the 500-yard freestyle, was second in the 200-yard freestyle and was the third leg on the 200-yard freestyle team that placed third in BW's loss to Widener (Pa.) University last Friday at the Sarasota YMCA as part of its annual Florida training trip.   He won the 500-free in a in a time of 5:03.11 and was the runner-up in the 200-free in a season-best time of 1:53.71.

Burk is a six-time All-OAC performer and two-time OAC Champion in the 1,650-yard freestyle that he won as a freshman and again last season as a junior.  He holds the school record in the 400-yard individual medley, 500-yard freestyle, 1,000-yard freestyle and the 1,650-yard freestyle.   Burk is a Dean's List student and a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. 

BW is back in action on Saturday, January 14 when it hosts a non-conference dual meet against NCAA Division II Malone University in the BW Natatorium at 1 p.m.   The Yellow Jackets return to OAC action on Friday, January 20 when they travel to ADA for a dual meet against Ohio Northern University in the ONU Sports Center at 6 p.m.
