Steinwachs Repeats as OAC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – For the second consecutive week, Baldwin Wallace University senior three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference attack Chad Steinwachs (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsville North) has been named OAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.

During a 2-0 week for the Yellow Jackets, Steinwachs broke four separate school records – single game assists, single game points, single season assists and single season points. In the 16-14 win over Ohio Northern University, the senior had five dishes to break the single-season assist record and then followed it up with two goals and a school-record 13 assists for a school record 15 points in the win over Muskingum. Steinwachs's performance against the Fighting Muskies also helped him to break the single-season points record.

This season, Steinwachs leads the Yellow Jackets and the OAC with 61 assists and 92 points. He is third on the team and tied for eighth in the conference with his 31 goals. The senior is also the NCAA Division III statistical leader for assists per game (4.69) and points per game (7.08).

For his career, Steinwachs has appeared in 61 games with 45 starts and has recorded 122 goals, 135 assists and 257 points. His name is written on eight school record and he is the Yellow Jackets' all-time leader in goals, assists and points. In addition, Steinwachs's 119 ground balls is sixth in school history. 

BW returns to action on Friday, April 19, to host Heidelberg University for a Seniors' Day and home finale game at 1 p.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
