AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Nine Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse student-athletes have been chosen to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.
In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
Sophomore defender David Arlington (Lockport, N.Y.), sophomore attack James Brown (Canfield/Cardinal Mooney), sophomore goalkeeper Trent Davis (Ottawa Hills), sophomore midfielder Carson Howatt (Dexter, Mich.), senior Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) All-West Region defender Brian Jandzinski (Lancaster, N.Y./Central), senior goalkeeper Nate Karatas (Penfield, N.Y.), sophomore All-OAC midfielder Nicholas Nanosky (Medina), sophomore two-time All-OAC defender Matthew Rodenhouse (Pittsford, N.Y./Mendon) and senior defender Jacob Swank (Hilliard/Woodgrove) are nine of 62 Yellow Jacket student-athletes to be recognized this spring.
Arlington, who earns his first Academic All-OAC honor, is a business administration and marketing double major who carries a 3.8 GPA. A Dean's List student, Arlington has appeared in seven games in his career and has recorded one ground ball and two caused turnovers.
Brown, who also garners his first career Academic All-OAC accolade, is a biology and pre-medicine major who carries a 3.6 GPA. Academically, he is a Dean's List student. In his career, Brown has appeared in 21 games and has tallied five goals, five assists, 10 points, 23 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Davis, who is named to his first Academic All-OAC team, is a biology and chemistry double major who carries a 3.9 GPA. He is a Dean's List student. For his career, Davis has appeared in 15 games with 10 starts and owns a 9-1 record with 73 saves and a 48.3 save percentage.
Howatt, who earns his first Academic All-OAC honor, is a sport management major who carries a 3.7 GPA. Academically, he is a Dean's List student. In his career, Howatt has appeared in 22 games and has recorded two goals, one assist, three points, 32 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.
Jandzinski, who garners his second straight Academic All-OAC accolade, is an exercise science and pre-physical therapy double major who carries a 3.68 GPA. He is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. For his career, Jandzinski appeared in 65 games and tallied three goals, three assists, six points, 147 ground balls and 93 caused turnovers.
Karatas, who is named to his third consecutive Academic All-OAC team, is an exercise science major who carries a 3.5 GPA. He is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. In his career, Karatas appeared in 32 games with 10 starts and compiled a 7-3 record with 149 saves and a 53.8 save percentage.
Nanosky, who earns his first Academic All-OAC honor, is a pre-physical therapy major who carries a 3.9 GPA. A Dean's List student, Nanosky has appeared in 29 games in his career and has tallied 23 goals, 18 assists, 41 points, 37 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers and 26 faceoff victories.
Rodenhouse, who also garners his first Academic All-OAC accolade, is a biology and chemistry double major who carries a 3.7 GPA. Academically, he is a Dean's List student. For his career, Rodenhouse has appeared in 24 games and has recorded 23 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.
Swank, who is named to his second straight Academic All-OAC team, is a finance major who carries a 3.498 GPA. He is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. In his career, Swank appeared in 40 games and tallied 18 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers.
