COLE NIETO'S CAREER SYNOPSIS:  Cole Nieto played four years of baseball and earned four letters. He is one of the best to ever wear the Brown & Gold. Cole helped the Yellow Jackets win 106 games in his four years with a 106-69 record and a .606 winning percentage. He led BW to two NCAA Division III National Tournament appearances and BW"s first-ever Division III College Baseball World Series in 2014. He also helped BW reach a pair of OAC Championship games.

Individually, Cole played in 137 career games, including 121 starts, and batted .341 (174 for 511) with 123 runs scored, 43 doubles, seven triples, 17 homer runs, 109 runs batted-in (RBI) and 20 stolen bases

BW ACADEMIC HONORS:  Cole carries a 3.66 grade point average and is a Dean's List student.

KENNETH STEINGASS AWARD:  As a senior in 2016-2017, Cole received the Kenneth Steingass Award at Honors Day, symbolic of the Most Outstanding Senior Male Athlete at BW.. 

CoSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT 7:  As a senior in 2016-2017, Cole received CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of American) Academic All-District 7 honors.

ALL-MIDEAST REGION:  As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Cole earned second-team All-Mideast Region honors by D3baseball.com and the ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association).

ALL-OAC HONORS:  As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Cole earned second-team All-OAC honors. As a junior in 2015-2016, he earned honorable mention All-OAC accolades. As a senior in 2016-2017, Cole earned first-team All-OAC honors.

OAC PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK:   As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Cole earned OAC Hitter of the Week honors on May 4, 2015. He also earned OAC Hitter of the Week honors on February 27, 2017.

BW BASEBALL HONORS:    As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Cole was named as the BW "Big Stick" Award winner, symbolic of the team's top hitter.  

THROUGH-THE-YEARS:  As a freshman in 2013-2014, Cole played in his first season of baseball and received his first varsity letter. He split time between junior varsity and varsity but appeared in 15 varsity games, including one start. He batted .471 with two runs scored, two doubles and seven runs batted-in (RBI). BW set a single-seaspn school-record with 30 victories, compile a 30-20 record, finish second at the OAC Tournament, win the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region title and advance to the school's first-ever NCAA Division III College World Series.

As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Cole played his second season of baseball and earned his second varsity letter. Cole earned Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week honors on May 4, 2015 as he batted .632 (12-for-19) and led BW to a 4-0 record. He played in and started all 43 games and led the team in batting with a .383 average (69-for-180) with 45 runs scored, a team-leading 16 doubles, four triples (second), five home runs (second) and 41 RBI. He also stole five bases in six attempts. Cole earned second-team All-OAC honors and was named as the 2015 BW "Big Stick" Award winner, symbolic of the team's top hitter. He also earned second-team All-Mideast Region honors by D3baseball.com and the ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association). BW finished with a school-record 31 victories and a 31-12 record. The Yellow Jackets finished fourth at the OAC Tournament and advanced to their second straight NCAA Division III Regional Tournament. 

As a junior in 2015-2016, Cole played his third season of baseball and earned his third letter. He started  at either second base or in the outfield. Cole was an honorable mention All-OAC selection. He played in 42 games, including 41 starts, and batted .284 (48-for-169) with a team-leading 43 runs scored, 13 doubles, two triples, a team-high five homers, 30 RBI and four stolen bases in five attempts. BW finished 23-20 overall, tied for second during the OAC regular season and advanced to the 2016 OAC Championship Game.

As a senior in 2016-2017, Cole played his fourth season of baseball and earned his fourth varsity letter. He started in center field until an injury moved him to DH. Cole was a first-team All-OAC selection, He earned his second OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week honors on February 27, 2017. Cole was named as a CoSIDA  Division III Academic All-District 7 selection. He played in 37 games and started 36 despite being hampered by an injury all season. Cole was the every day center fielder until suffering his injury. He was tied for third on the team in batting average at .345 (50 for 145) with 33 runs scored, 13 doubles, one triple, seven homers, 32 RBI and 10 steals in 11 attempts. Cole led BW in at-bats, runs scored, base hits, doubles and homers and had a .593 slugging and .411 on-base average. BW finished 22-17 overall and 10-8 in the OAC.
