BEREA, OHIO – Baldwin Wallace University senior volleyball student-athlete and libero Natalie Emmons (Ashland) has been named  2012 Honorable Mention All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.  Emmons garners her first career All-OAC honor selection.

This season, Emmons played and started in all 29 matches and recorded a team-high 571 digs, to rank fifth in the OAC. She tallied 25 set assists, 16 service aces and 14 kills. She helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a 12-17 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the OAC. During the season, Emmons was named to the all-tournament team at the BW Marcia French Memorial Tournament, the Salisbury Sea Gull Classic and the HCAC/OAC Challenge.

Emmons has been a large reason for the BW turnabout in volleyball. In 2009, BW had a 5-24 overall record but Emmons played in 28 of 29 matches and recorded a team-high 376 digs. The libero/defensive specialist also had 16 service aces. She was eighth in the OAC in digs per game with an average of 4.31.  For her efforts, Emmons was named Co-Rookie of the Year for the Yellow Jackets.

As a sophomore in 2010, Emmons was the starting libero and was named a co-captain. Emmons was named to the all-tournament team at the HCAC/ OAC Challenge and Kalamazoo (Mich.) Invitational. Statistically, she was the team leader in digs with 655. As a defensive specialist, she contributed 11 kills, 17 set assists and 15 service aces. Emmons was also selected as the Most Valuable Player for BW in their team awards.

Last season, Emmons was again the team leader in digs with 590. She was also eighth in the OAC in digs per game with an average of 4.57. Natalie played in 27 matches and 113 sets.

For her career, Emmons played in 120 career matches including 426 sets.  She totaled 2,243 digs, which ranks second all-time in BW history behind Meggie Marten '07. Also, she tallied 79 set assists, 64 service aces, and 55 kills.
