WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Junior Division III All-American Melanie Winters (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) won five events, set three school records and three All-Ohio meet records as the Baldwin Wallace University women's track team finished fourth of 18 teams with 68.5 points at the 2015 All-Ohio Division III Championships hosted by Otterbein University in the Clements Recreation Center.
Winters, who also won the pentathlon last Sunday at Denison University with a career-high, school-record and Mitchell Fieldhouse-record and 3,589 points, won four events and set two school-records. Winters won the long jump with a school-record and All-Ohio Meet record record leap of 19 feet and 4 inches, won the high jump with a leap of 5' 4.25, the 60-meter hurdles in a school-record and All-Ohio Meet record time of 8:80 seconds and the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.87. Her points in the pentathlon and her mark in the long jump ranks first in Division III and her 60-meter time is the fourth fastest.
BW is back in action on Friday, February 20 when they hosts the annual Greater Cleveland Colleges Championship Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse. Field events begin at 4:00 p.m. The Yellow then travels to Kent on Saturday, February 21 to compete in the Kent State University Tune-Up Meet at 11 a.m.
