BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Melanie Winters is participating in her sophomore season of track and field at Baldwin Wallace University in 2013-2014. She is one of the best pentathletes in Division III indoors and heptathletes outdoors.

RECORDS SET:  Melanie owns four BW Indoor marks: an 8.84-second timing in the 60-meter hurdles in 2014, a 7.74-second timing in the 60-meter dash in 2014, a leap of 19'3.25" in the long jump in 2014 and scoring 3,509 points in the pentathlon in 2014.

TRACK HONORS:  As a sophomore in 2013-2014 indoors, Melanie was a Division III All-American by placing third at the 2014 NCAA Division III National Indoor Championship Meet in the long jump. She also was named as the USTFCCCA (United States Track & Field/ Cross Country Coaches Association) Division III Great Lakes Region Field Athlete of the Year and was the Ohio Athletic Conference Fred Razik Award winner at the Indoor Championship Meet.

As a sophomore outdoors, Melanie earned All-Ohio honors in the 7-event heptathlon (champion), 100-meter hirdles (champion), long jump (champion), 200-meter dash (champion) and high jump (second). She earned All-OAC honors in the 100 dash (champion), 200 dash (champion), 100 hurdles (champion), long jump (champion) and high jump (champion). She was named as the OAC Outdoor Track & Field Female Sprinter of the Year.

OAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARDS:   Melanie has earned the OAC Track Athlete of the Week award six times (twice outdoors as a freshman, twice indoors as a sophomore and twice already outdoors as a sophomore). 

INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2012-2013, Melanie competed in her first season of indoor track. She competed as a pentathlete. She had season-bests of 7.95 seconds in the 55-meter dash, a school-record 8.38 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles, a school-record 9.25 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, a leap of 5'5" in the high jump, a team-best leap of 17'10.25" in the long jump, a throw of 28'4.5" in the shot put.  

As a sophomore in 2013-2014, Melanie competed in her second season of indoor track. Melanie was an NCAA Division III All-American by placing third at the 2014 NCAA Division III National Indoor Championship Meet in the long jump. She was named as the USTFCCCA (United States Track & Field/ Cross Country Coaches Association) Division III Great Lakes Region Field Athlete of the Year. At the 2014 OAC Indoor Championship Meet, she earned the Fred Razik Most Valuable Field Athlete award.  She earned her third OAC Track Performer of the Week award for her effots at the All-Ohio Division III Multi-Event Meet at Denison. She earned her fourth OAC Track Performer of the Week honor for her efforts at the Kent State University Tune-Up Meet.

OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2012-2013, Melanie competed in her first season of outdoor track and hopes to earn her first varsity letter. Melanie was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track Performer of the Week for her achievements at North Carolina-Charlotte (N.C.) 49er Invitational Meet. She earned a second OAC Women's Track Performer of the Week for her efforts at the annual Division III All-Ohio Championship Meet. 

As a sophomore in 2013-2014, Melanie is competing in her second season of outdoor track. She is one of the best heptathletes in Division III. She earned her fifth OAC Track Performer of the Week honor at the North Carolina-Charlotte (N.C.) 49er Invitational Meet She earned her sixth OAC Track Performer of the Week at the Marietta College Don Frail Invitational Meet. Melanie earned All-Ohio honors in the 7-event heptathlon (champion), 100-meter hirdles (champion), long jump (champion), 200-meter dash (champion) and high jump (second). She earned All-OAC honors in the 100 dash (champion), 200 dash (champion), 100 hurdles (champion), long jump (champion) and high jump (champion). She was named as the OAC Outdoor Track & Field Female Sprinter of the Year.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  Melanie Winters grew up in Stow, Ohio and graduated from Stow-Munroe Falls High School.
