Women's Tennis Competes in Nancy & Harvey Heath Gator Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pennsylvania – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team competed in the Nancy and Harvey Heath Gator Invitational over the weekend at the Robertson Athletic Complex, hosted by Allegheny (Pa.) College.

BW vs. Allegheny (Pa.) College

 In match one, BW (0-1) faced host Allegheny College, but fell short 4-5. The first pair of doubles was senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection Imani Robinson (Cincinnati/School for Creative & Performing Arts) and sophomore Ashtyn Morris (Salem), who took an 8-4 victory over Amanda Ress Liere and Miharu Koh. Sophomore Becca Liebler (Medina) and senior Kathleen Moser (Strongsville) combined for another 8-4 victory over Savannah Gray and Candace Burkhammer.

In the singles portion of the Allegheny match, both Morris and Moser came away with identical 6-2 and 6-0 scores, for two victories.

BW vs. Grove City (Pa.) College

Morris and Moser paired for the first doubles match against Grove City, where Morgan Happe and Maggie Manchester came away with an 8-6 victory. The second doubles match included Imani Robinson and Liebler, who fell to Madi Reed and Jenn Elder, 8-5.

In singles, Morris was the only Yellow Jacket to come away with a win. Her final score of 6-3 and 6-4, against Maggie Manchester, gave BW their lone victory over Grove City. The final match score from the Grove City match was 8-1.

The Nancy and Harvey Heath Gator Invitational closes out the fall portion of the Yellow Jackets season. BW will be back in action again on February 9 when they square off against Oberlin College at home.
