Women’s Soccer Overpowers Marietta

BEREA,Ohio—The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team shut out Ohio Athletic Conference foe Marietta College, 6-0, Saturday evening on Tressel Field inside of The George Finnie Stadium. The six goals were the second most by the Yellow Jackets this season.

BW (8-4-2, 2-1 OAC) was led by freshman forward Rachel Bender (Massillon/Jackson) who scored two goals bringing her season total to seven.

Junior defender Kelly Gough (Hudson), freshman midfielder Cassandra Waickman (Stow/Munroe Falls), freshman forward Joy Trillett (Broadview Heights/Wadsworth), and senior forward Cheryl Bell (Piqua) also scored goals for the Yellow Jackets.

Senior All-OAC and OAC Academic senior goalkeeper Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.) earned her sixth shutout this season and the 27th shutout of her career.  

The Yellow Jackets next game is on Tuesday, October 13 when they travel to Alliance, Ohio to face off against, OAC opponent, the University of Mount Union inside of Mount Union Stadium at 7 p.m.
