BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's indoor track and field teams each placed third of four teams at the annual Mid-January Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse. This was the first indoor meet of the season for the Yellow Jackets.
The BW men scored 156 points to finish behind Case Western Reserve in first place with 232. The Yellow Jacket women scored 154 points to finish behind John Carroll in first with 225.
The Yellow Jacket men were led by junior Tyler Burdorff (Painesville/Riverside) won the shot put with a throw of 50-6.25 and placed third in the weight throw with a throw of 51-00. Junior Brandon Eddy (Cuyahoga Heights) won the men's high jump clearing a height of six feet and four inches and the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 8.09. He also placed second in the men's pole vault clearing a height of 14-00.
In running events, senior Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/St. Ignatius) won the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.56 and the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.90. Freshman Troy Robinson took second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.49 while junior Dusan Vasic (Broadview Heights/Brecksville Broadview Heights) finished third in the men's 5,000 with a time of 16:48.54. Junior Greg Blevins (Mentor) placed third in the 3,000-meter in a time of 9:03.12.
The Yellow Jacket track and field teams are back in action on Saturday, February 1 when they travel to Ada to compete at the Ohio Athletic Conference North Split Squad Meet at 5 p.m. The next home meet is the annual Mid-February Meet on February 14 on the Harrison Dillard Track at 5 p.m.
