Men's Swimming and Diving Honors Three Senior Student-Athletes

BEREA, Ohio –   The Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department and wrestling program would like to congratulate senior student-athletes Matthew Butt, Conner Hartup and Michael Morsch on completing their outstanding athletic careers at the University.

While the NCAA has extended another year of eligibility, it is uncertain if each of these student-athlete will come back for another season or continue down their career path.  So, the University administration, faculty and staff congratulates these three young men on their outstanding athletic and academic careers as well as their leadership to the men's swimming and diving program. The University would like to wish each of them all the best of luck in their future endeavors and hope that even after graduation that they come back and visit us often. They will always be a Yellow Jacket for Life (YJ4L).

Butt is a chemistry major from Westfield Center, Ohio and a graduate of Cloverleaf High School.  He is a freestyler that will earn his fourth varsity letter this spring.  This season, Butt set career-bests in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 27.08 seconds, 100-yard butterfly with a time of 47.59 and the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 47.69.  He is a member of the school-record holding relay teams of the 200-yard medley, 400-yard medley and 800-yard freestyle as well as the BW Natatorium record holding 200-yard medley.  Out of the pool, Butt is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, a Dean's List student, Jacket scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and the Chi Alpha Sigma honoraries.  He is the son of Terry and Susan Butt of Westfield Center

Hartup is a cybersecurity analyst major from Westlake, Ohio and a graduate of Westlake High School.  He is a freestyler that will earn his fourth varsity letter this spring.  Hartup set a career-best in the 400-yard individual medley this season at the OAC Championships.  He had his best season in the pool a year ago when he set career-bests in the 100-yard individual medley, 200-yard individual medley, 500-yard freestyle, the 1000-yard freestyle and the 1650-yard freestyle.  Hartup is the son of Dana and Ellen Hartup of Westlake.

Morsch is an environmental science major from Phoenix, Arizona and a graduate of Notre Dame Preparatory High School.  He competed in the backstroke, butterfly and freestyle events and he will earn his fourth varsity letter this spring.  This season, Morsch set career-bests in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle with times of 1:46.86 and 4:51.10.   He is the school-record holder in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstrokes.   Morsch is also a member of the school-record holding relay teams of 200-yard medley, 400-yard medley and 800-freestyle as well as the BW Natatorium record holding 200-yard medley.  He is the son of Mary Beth Lanosa of Phoenix.
