Today's Contest: 
Today is the final game of the 2017 season for the Baldwin Wallace University football team. Last week, BW defeated Heidelberg University at home by a final score of 27-10 on Seniors' and Parents' Day.  Ohio Northern held off Wilmington College by a final score of 49-45 in its final road contest.

The Series: 
BW and Ohio Northern are meeting for the 43rd time on the gridiron.The Yellow Jackets hold a 29-12-1 advatange in the all-time series, including winning the last two meetings.  BW has won five of the last six games.  The Polar Bears last win came in 2014 by a final score of 37-35.

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert: 
Hilvert is in his first season at BW and has a record of 6-3. He is 73-22 in nine overall and is 0-0 against Ohio Northern. 

ONU Head Coach Dean Paul 
Paul is in his 14th season at Ohio Northern and is the all-time winningest coach in program history with a record of 95-48. He has an OAC mark of 82-43. Paul is 134-60 in 18 overall seasons and is 4-9 against BW.

Last Meeting vs. ONU -- Nov. 12, 2016:
BW scored 31 points on 296 yards passing and 127 yards rushing for 423 yards of total offense. Ohio Northern scored 21 points on 143 yards passing and 134 yards rushing for 277 yards of total offense.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets: 
In week nine of the season, BW scored 27 points on 225 yards rushing and 157 yards passing for a 382 yards of total offense. Heidelberg scored 10 points on 232 yards rushing and 141 yards passing for 373 yards of total offense.

BW Leaders: 
Offensively, junior quarterback Jake Hudson (East Lake, Fla.) has completed 132 of 225 passes for 1,902 yards with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He is second in rushing with 418 yards on  109  carrries with four touchdowns. Senior All-OAC running back Austin Smith (Broadview Heights/North Royalton) leads the ground game with 509 yards on 106 carries with three TDs.  Junior wide out Chad Steinwachs (Buffalo, N.Y./Willamsville North) tops the receiving corps with 33 grabs for 382 yards with six TDs.  Defensively, senior All-OAC linebacker Sam Groff (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) tops the team and is second in the OAC with a career-high 88 tackles. Senior safety Trypp Washington (Eatonville, Fla./Orlando First Academy) is second with a career-high 69 stops but leads the team in pass breakups with seven and interceptions with three.

Scouting the Polar Bears:
In week of the nine of the season, Ohio Northern scored 49 points on 283 yards passing and 168 yards rushing for 451 yards of total offense. Wilmington scored 45 points on 444 yards passing and 141 yards rushing for 585 yards of total offense.

Ohio Northern Leaders: 
Offensively, junior All-OAC quarterback Will Freed has completed 155 of 259 passes for 2,026 yards with 20 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Sophomore All-OAC running back Christiaan Williams leads the ground attack and the OAC with 1,444 yards on 239 carries with seven touchdowns. Junior Chad Rex leads the receiving unit with 45 grabs for 832 yards with 13 touchdowns.  Defensively, senior All-OAC linebacker Zach Schmerge tops the team and is fourth in the OAC with 82 stops. Sophomore linebacker Mark Niles is second in tackles with 79 and quarterback sacks with 4.5.
