BLUFFTON, Ohio—The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team opened its 2015 campaign with an 11-0 shutout victory against Bluffton University at the Sears Complex.

The 11 goals for BW (1-0) were the most scored in a game since the Yellow Jackets scored six on two occasions a year ago. BW was two goals shy of tying the school record of 13, which was set in 1990 season against Otterbein University.

The Yellow Jackets, who have now won four out of their last five season openers were led by senior forward Audrie Wolfe (Hilliard/Darby), sophomore defenseman Jenny Burdick (Chesterfield, Va./Matoaca) and freshman midfielder Katie Kill (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) with two goals apiece. Bluffton (0-1) has now lost three straight season openers.

In addition to Wolfe, Burdick and Kill, five other BW players found the back of the net, including the first collegiate goals for junior midfielder Kara Painter (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) and freshman forward Rachel Bender (Massillon/Massillon Jackson).  The remaining goals came from sophomore forward Courtney Schutz (Mentor), sophomore midfielders Alex Elliott (Blacklick/IMG Academy) and Anna Poptic (Dublin/Jerome).

Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC goalkeeper Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.) earned her 36th career victory and combined with sophomores Sydney Yeager (Waterville / St. Ursula Academy)and Julianna Rubin (Fort Pierce, Fla. / Jensen Beach) for her 20th career shutout.  Tallmadge faced six shots and recorded five saves.
