Defending OAC Champion Wrestling Team Picked First in OAC Coaches Poll

BEREA, Ohio—
The defending Ohio Athletic Conference Champion Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team has been picked to finish first in the OAC Coaches Preseason Poll.

BW, who was picked first for the second consecutive season had 36 points and six first place votes. The University of Mount Union was picked second with 27 points and one first place vote. Heidelberg University was third with 25 points, John Carroll University was picked fourth with 21 points and Ohio Northern University was picked fifth with 17 points.

Sixth-year Head Coach Jamie Gibbs, who has a 48-26 career dual match record at BW, returns 16 letterwinners from last year's squad that won the schools first OAC Championship since 1973. The Yellow Jackets finished second at the NCAA Mideast Regional and had three wrestlers qualify for the NCAA National Tournament.

BW begins the 2016-17 campaign on Thursday, November 10 when they travel to Adrian, Michigan to wrestle Adrian College in a non-conference dual match inside the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center at 7 p.m.
