No. 20 Wrestling Posts 3-0 Record at Waynesburg (Pa.) Duals

WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The 20th-nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team posted a 3-0 record at the Waynesburg (Pa.) Duals inside the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.

BW (6-2) defeated No. 16-nationally ranked York (Pa.) College 35-15, The Apprentice School (Va.) 46-3 and Waynesburg (Pa.) 30-18.

Against York, sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference 165-pounder Anthony Arroyo (Maumee), senior 174-pounder Grahan Montague (Independence), sophomore 184-pounder Zeckary Lehman (Akron/Revere) and junior 285-pounder Andrew Sierawski (Delaware/Hayes) each won their respective weight classes by pin fall. Junior 125-pounder Chris Doyle (Akron/Green) and senior 149-pounder Josh Decatur (Akron/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) won by major decision. Doyle won by a count of 14-2 and Decatur by a score of 13-1.  Sophomore All-OAC 157-pounder Richie Burke (Ithaca, N.Y.) won by a 5-2 decision.

In the match against The Apprentice School, Decatur won by pin fall. Doyle and freshman 133-pounder Charlie Nash (Norwalk) each won by technical fall. Doyle won by a final of 21-6 and Nash won by a count of 16-1. Burke and freshman 285-pounder Eddie Sternad (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) each won by decision. Burke won by a score of 9-7 and Sternad won by a count of 9-3. Arroyo, Lehman, junior NCAA qualifier 197-pounder Tyler Maclellan (Medina/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) each won by forfeit and junior 174-pounder Grant Rathburn (New Albany/Bishop Hartley) won by medical forfeit.

Against Waynesburg, Burke and Montague won by pin fall in their respective weight classes. Burke pinned his opponent at the 7:00 mark and Montague earned the fall at the 3:45 mark. Arroyo won his match 6-4 decision and Maclellan won the 197-pound bout 10-4 decision. Freshman 133-pounder Dante Ginnetti (Poland/Seminary) and Decatur won by forfeit.

BW is back in action on Saturday, December 17 when it travels to Nashville, Tennessee for the Gator "Boots" Duals hosted by Luther (Iowa) College at McGavock High School starting at 8 a.m.
