Three Men’s Tennis Student-Athletes Voted to All-OAC Team

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio –
Three Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis student-athletes earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors.

Sophomore Dominic Polifrone (Hudson) earned a spot on the second-team. Senior Nathan Katz (Upper Arlington/Bexley) and sophomore Matt Harris (Akron/Revere) each were selected as honorable mentions.

Polifrone, who garners his second All-OAC accolade, as he was an honorable mention in 2016. He had the most singles wins on the squad this season with an overall record of 18-7 and was 4-4 in conference play. In doubles action, he finished with an overall record of 19-8 and 5-3 against OAC opponents. In the last two seasons, he has tallied a singles record of 42-11, a doubles record of 43-16 and has a winning percentage of .759.

Katz earns his first All-OAC honor as he went 15-10 overall in singles and was 4-4 versus OAC competition. In doubles, the duo of him and senior Jake Liebler (Medina) led the team with 19 doubles victories as they were 19-5 and finished with a conference record of 4-4. In his career, the three-time All-OAC Academic and two-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete is 12th all-time with an overall singles record of 69-35 and finished 43-19 in doubles.

Harris garners his first All-OAC accolade as he finished the year with a career-best overall singles record of 17-4 and a team-best tying 6-2 mark against OAC competitors. In doubles, he was 18-8 overall and 5-3 versus conference opponents. After two seasons in the brown and gold, Harris has a career singles record of 37-17 and a doubles record of 23-5.

The Yellow Jackets finished the year with a 17-4 overall record, a conference mark of 6-2 and advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinals for the second straight season.
