BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Nathan Katz '17 played four seasons of men's tennis at Baldwin Wallace University from the fall of 2013 through the spring of 2017. He was a four-year letterman and both an All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC student-athlete who received additional honors from the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association).

ACADEMIC MAJOR:   Biology/Pre-Medicine Undergraduate

GRADUATE DEGREE:   One-Year MBA Program

BW ACADEMIC HONORS:  Nathan carried a 3.765 grade point average and was a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. He also was a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. 

ALL-OAC HONORS:  As a senior in 2016-2017, Nathan earned honorable mention All-OAC honors

ACADEMIC ALL-OAC HONORS:  As a sophomore in 2014-2015, junior in 2015-2016 and senior in 2016-2017, Nathan earned Academic All-OAC honors.

ITA SCHOLAR-ATHLETE HONORS:  As a sophomore, junior and senior, Nathan earned ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Scholar-Athlete honors.

OAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS:  As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Nathan was named as the OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors on March 3, 2015. He earned his second OAC Men's Temmis Player of the Week honors on February 27, 2017.

NATHAN KATZ'S CAREER SYNOPSIS:  Nathan Katz played four seasons of tennis and earned four varsity letters. He helped the Yellow Jackets  to compile a 75-19 career dual match record for a .798 record, including 24 wins in 2015-2016. He was a four-year starter in singles, started for two years in doubles and alternated his other two seasons. Nathan had a 69-34 career record in singles which ranks 12th all-time in school history He also posted a 43-19 career doubles record (.694) and a 112-53 career combination mark (.679). Individually, Nathan earned All-OAC (senior), Academic All-OAC (three times) and ITA Scholar-Athlete honors (three times). He also was a two-time OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

THROUGH-THE-YEARS:  As a freshman in 2013-2014, Nathan played his first season of tennis and earned his first varsity letter. He started at number five singles and compiled a 17-9 record, including a 12-5 mark at No.5 and a 5-3 slate against Ohio Athletic Conference opponents. He also had a 4-1 doubles mark. BW finished 19-4 overall.

As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Nathan played his second season of tennis earned his second varsity letter. He earned OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors on March 3, 2015 for his efforts in a dual match sweep of Penn State Behrend (Pa.) and Washington & Jefferson (Pa.). He also earned both Academic All-OAC and ITA Scholar-Athlete honors. Nathan compiled a 13-12 singles and 14-9 doubles record. BW finished 15-6 overall.

As a junior in 2015-2016, Nathan played his third season of tennis and earned his third varsity letter. He started at No.5 singles and played in some doubles matches. He earned his second straight Academic All-OAC and ITA Scholar-Athlete awards. Nathan compiled a sparkling, 24-4 overall singles mark, including a 22-4 mark in dual matches, an 18-3 slate at No.5 and a 7-1 mark against OAC foes. He had an overall doubles record of 6-4. The Yellow Jackets finished 24-5 overall.

As a senior in 2016-2017, Nathan is playing his fourth season of tennis and hopes to earn his fourth letter. He starts at No.2 singles and is a member of the No.2 doubles tandem. He earned honorable mention All-OAC, Academic All-OAC (third straight year) and ITA Scholar-Athlete honors (third consecutive season). He also was the OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week on February 27, 2017 (second time in his career). Nathan had a 15-10 singles mark at No.2 and a 19-5 doubles record, including a 15-5 slate at No.2. BW finished 17-4 overall and advanced to the OAC semifinals.
