Four Men's Tennis Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-OAC Honors

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Four Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis student-athletes have been named to the 2017 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected as Academic All-OAC a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and maintain varsity status.

Seniors Nathan Katz (Upper Arlington/Bexley) and Jake Liebler (Medina) and sophomores Matt Harris (Akron/Revere) and Dominic Polifrone (Hudson) each were named to the spring Academic All-OAC team.

Katz, who garners his third Academic All-OAC accolade, is a biology and pre-medicine double major that carries a 3.77 grade point average (GPA). He also is a two-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete, a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha honor society. This season, Katz was an All-OAC honorable mention, finished the year with a 15-10 singles record and a doubles record of 19-5.

Liebler, who earns his second Academic All-OAC honor, is a business administration major that carries a 3.86 GPA. He is also a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. Liebler finished his last season with a singles record of 19-3 and a doubles record of 19-5.

Harris, who garners his first Academic All-OAC accolade, is a marketing & film studies double major that carries a 3.82 GPA. He is also a ITA Scholar-Athlete, a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda and Dayton C. Miller honor society. This season, Harris was an All-OAC honorable mention and finished the year with a singles record of 17-4 and a doubles mark of 18-8.

Polifrone, who earns his first Academic All-OAC honor, is a pre-physical therapy major that carries a 3.90 GPA. He is also a ITA Scholar-Athlete, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda honor society. Polifrone was an All-OAC seond-team selection, led the team with a record of 18-7 in singles and finished the year with a doubles mark of 19-8.
