DELAWARE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team was sixth and the men were seventh at the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational.

BW was sixth of eight teams with 168 points.

"I was pleased with how we looked today," said first-year head coach Joe Eby.  "We executed the plan well. We took a nice step forward from our time trial at camp. We still have a lot of work to do, but the team is working hard and we are headed in the right direction. We need to stay healthy and keep plugging away."

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) as she crossed the finish line in ninth place of 101 runners on the 5k course in a time of 19:32.4.

In addition to Brennan, sophomore Maeve Christie (Lakewood) placed 23rd in a career-best time of 20:13.4.  Freshman Hannah Fredriksen (Hamburg, N.Y) was 47th in a time of 21:45.5.

BW  is idle until Saturday, September 19 when it travels to Westerville to compete in the Otterbein University Invitational at 11 a.m.
