OBERLIN, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's cross country team placed 6th today (Saturday, October 15, 2011) at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Meet hosted by Oberlin College. This was the sixth and final regular season meet for the Yellow Jackets.
The B-W women scored 235 points and placed 6th of 33 total teams with 10 total runners competing in the varsity 6K and three runners in the 6K open race.
The women were led by junior Lauren McGaughey (Allison Park, Pa./ Hampton) finished 22nd of 282 total runners with a time of 23:07.1. Following directly behind McGaughey was fellow junior Shaina Kovatch (Parma/ Valley Forge) with a time of 23:09.3. Junior Sarah Rospert (Milan/ Edison) placed 28th in a time of 23:19.6, junior Tess Hoogeveen (Westerville/ Green) finished 78th in a time of 24:14.8, sophomore Brooke Hradisky (Aurora) finished 91st in 24:33.9, sophomore Lauren Hutka (North Ridgeville/ Midview) crossed the line in 98th place with a time of 24:44.7, sophomore Jamie Clapacs (Willoughby Hills/ South) finished 114th in 25:00.1, sophomore Blair Vrcan (Mentor) placed 139th in 25:24.1, senior Judy Patterson (Alquippa, Pa./ Monaca Center) finished 189th in 26:19.2, and senior Julie Kotesovec (Litchfield Township/ Medina Buckeye) was 207th as she crossed the line with a time of 26:41.0.
In the open meet, B-W was led by junior Lynne Fahy (Ontario, N.Y./ Wayne Central) as she finished in 51st place and crossed the finish line in a time of 26:34.4. Following Fahy was freshman Bryn Allen (Chardon) placed 103rd in 28:48.4.
