NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team won a four-set Ohio Athletic Conference match against Muskingum University on the Performance Court,
Offensively, sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Alicia Lortcher (Norwalk) led the offensive attack with match-high 18 kills and three service aces. Senior All-OAC middle hitter Nikolette Scruggs (Barberton) tallied 13 kills while junior outside hitter Ellen Hawkins (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) and freshman outside hitter Allyson Smith (Macedonia/Northfield) each contributed 12. The 12 kills were a career-best for Smith.
Freshman setters Shannon Ott (Milan/Edison) ran the offense with a match-high 23 assists. Sophomore middle hitter Jordan Diels (Paris/Minerva) had a career-best 13 assists.
On the defensive side, sophomore libero Ashley Nuding (Perrysburg/Springfield) had a 24 digs. Lortcher tallied 18 digs and a career-high tying four blocks. while senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC defensive specialist Arlayna Newcomer (Norwalk/St. Paul) contributed 11. Junior defensive specialist Emily Daveant (North Ridgeville) and Ott each added 10 digs. In addition, Scruggs notched a career-best tying seven blocks
