Volleyball Team Loses to The University of Mount Union, 3-0 in Alliance

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team lost to Ohio Athletic Conference rival The University of Mount Union, 3-0, tonight (Tuesday, October 19, 2010) in the McPherson Athletic and Academic Complex (MAAC) on 'Dig It for the Cure' Day in Alliance, Ohio.  The scores of the match were 25-10, 25-22, 25-11.

With its loss, B-W is now 17-12 overall and 2-4 in the OAC.  With its win, The University of Mount Union is now 18-8 overall and 4-2 in the OAC.

Up front, the Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore middle hitter Rachel Switalski (North Royalton/Holy Name) with four kills and one dig.  Freshman outside hitter Taylor Burns (Tiffin/Fostoria St. Wendelin) contributed three kills and added a team-high eight digs.  

Setting the offense was senior setter Casey Passen (Ashville/ Teays Valley) who led the team in set assists with 11.  

The Purple Raiders were led by Roni Schroeder with 10 kills.  Sarah Dean added 13 digs and Julie Radigan had 31 set assists.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 23 when they travel to Wilmington, Ohio to play OAC rival Wilmington College on the Hermann Court in Fred Raizk Arena, at 1:00 p.m.  The next home match is on Tuesday, Oct. 26 when B-W hosts OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University in the Ursprung Gym at 7:00 p.m.
