BEREA, Ohio – With all of the qualifying All-Ohio Indoor Championships Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field competitors resting for Saturday's championship meet, the remainder of the squad finished15th at the Mid-February Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track in the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
The 18-team meet consisted of 14 NCAA Division III schools and three NCAA Division II schools. The 14 Division teams consisted of eight schools from Pennsylvania, five schools from Ohio and two schools from New York.
BW was 15th of 18 teams with six points. Buffalo State (N.Y.) University won the meet with 158 points.
The Yellow Jackets were led by junior thrower Natasha Thomas (Cleveland/Holy Name) as she placed third in the weight throw and 15th in the shot put. Thomas had a career-best mark of 45 feet and 0.25 inches in the weight throw and a mark of 32'11.25" in the shot put. Freshman jumper Jessica Edwards (North Varailles, Pa. /East Allegheny) finished ninth in the triple jump and placed 13th in the long jump. Edwards had a mark of 30'7.5" in the triple jump and a mark of 14'6.5" in the long jump. Freshman jumper Rachel Tucker (Canton/McKinley) took 10th in the triple jump with a career-best mark of 30'7.5".
BW is back in action tomorrow, Saturday, February 13 when it travels Westerville to compete in the All-Ohio Division III Indoor Championships hosted by Otterbein University in the Clements Recreation Center at 12 p.m.
