BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Nicole Smith will be competing in her fourth season of track and field at Baldwin Wallace in 2013-2014. Nicole has earned three varsity letters and is both an All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC competitor.

ACADEMIC HONORS:  Nicole carries a 3.68 grade point average in biology and pre-med and is a member of the Dean's List and both Alpha Lambda Delta and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies.  The Jacket Scholar earned Academic All-OAC honors following the 2012-2013 season.

INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD INFORMATION:   As a freshman in 2010-2011, Nicole competed in her first season of indoor track and field. She ran a personal-best of 27.44 seconds in the 200-meter dash and team-best time of 1.00.74 in the 400 meter dash. 

As a sophomore in 2011-2012, Nicole competed in her second season of indoor track and field. Nicole earned All-OAC honors by placing second in the 500 meter dash in 1:19.58 at the 2012 OAC Championship Meet. She ran a career-best time in the 200 meter dash of 26.61 seconds in the prelims at the 2012 OAC Championship Meet and placed ninth overall with a 27.47-second timing in the finals. She had a season-best time of 1:00.38 in the 400 meter-dash at the All-Ohio Championship Meet. 

As a junior in 2012-2013, Nicole competed in her third season of indoor track and field. She recorded team-best times of 26.75 seconds in the 200-meter dash and 59.53 seconds in the 400-meter dash. She earned All-Ohio honors in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.85 at the 2013 All-Ohio Championship Meet.

As a senior in 2013-2014, Nicole will compete in her fourth season of indoor track and field. 

OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD INFORMATION:   As a freshman in 2010-2011, Nicole competed in her first season of outdoor track and field and earned her first varsity letter.  She had the teams best time of 58.94 seconds in the 400-meter dash. 

As a sophomore in 2011-2012, Nicole competed in her second season of outdoor track and field and earned her second letter.  She had the team-best time of 58.84 seconds in the 400-meter dash and set a career-best in the 200-meter dash of 25.92 seconds in the prelims at the 2012 OAC Championship Meet. Overall at the OAC Championship Meet, Nicole placed fourth in the 400 meters in 59.12 seconds and eighth in the 200 meters in 26.99 seconds.

As a junior in 2012-2013, Nicole competed in her third season of outdoor track and field and earned her third letter. She had a team and career-best time of 58.66 seconds in the prelims of the 400-meter dash at the 2013 All-Ohio Championship Meet. She placed fifth overall with a time of 59.14 seconds in the finals. For her efforts in the classroom and on the track, Nicole was named to the Academic All-OAC team.

As a senior in 2013-2014, Nicole will compete in her fourth season of outdoor track and field.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Nicole Smith grew up in Geneva, Ohio and graduated from Geneva High School.  Sheran track for four years and earned four varsity letters. She also earned one letter in cross country.

In track, Nicole was part of the Regional Championship 4x400-meter relay team in 2008. She also earned All-Ohio in 2010 as a member of the 400 and 800-meter relay teams. Nicole was a Regional finalist in the 800-meter run and as a member of the 4x800-meter relay team. Her track team was District champs in 2010. She was part of a 400-meter relay team that broke the Geneva H.S. and Ashtabula County record in 49.28 seconds and the 800 relay squad that also broke the G.H.S. and Ashtabula County mark with a time of 1:44.03. Nicole  was part of three additional events that broke school records: the 1600-meter relay (4:10.39), the 3200-meter relay (9:57.04) and the sprint medley relay (1:55.09).

Academically, Nicole was a consistent Honor Roll student, graduated with an Honors Diploma and earned Academic All-Ohio in 2010.
