BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Lauren Hutka will compete in her fourth season of cross country and track and field at Baldwin Wallace University in 2013-2014. She has earned three varsity letters in each of cross country and track and field. 

ACADEMIC HONORS AT BW: In 2012-2013, Lauren was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Athletics Honor Society.

GENERAL CROSS COUNTRY INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2010-2011, Lauren competed in her first season of cross country.  She helped lead the Yellow Jackets to the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship. She recorded her best finish at Case Western Reserve for the Bill Sudeck Meet where she placed, 16th in a time of 16:05.62.

As a sophomore in 2011-12, Lauren competed in her second second season of cross country and earned her second varsity letter.  Lauren had her best finish at the College of Wooster Invitational where she finished 13th with a time of 22:25.08.  At the OAC Conference meet she finished 59th in a time of 25:13.8.

As a junior in 2012-2013, Lauren competed in her third season of cross country. Lauren ran a season-best time in the 5K with a time of 20:07.7 at The Calvin College (Mich.) Invitational where she placed 112th out of 313 total runners. She placed 36th out of 140 total runners at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship with a time of 25:14.8. Lauren lettered for the third time in cross country.
    As a senior in 2013-14, Lauren will compete in her fourth season of cross country.

GENERAL INDOOR TRACK INFORMATION: Lauren has had a solid indoor track career thus far. Lauren has helped B-W to an 86-4 overall record in her two seasons as a Yellow Jacket.

As a freshman in 2010-2011, Lauren competed in her first season of Indoor track and field. She recorded season bests of 3:37.36 in the 1000 meter run, 10:51 in the 3000 meter run, 19:25.21 in the 5000 meter run and 5:45.73 in the one mile.

As a sophomore in 2011-2012, Lauren competed in her second season of indoor track.  She recorded bests of 11:13.63 in the 3000 meter run, 20:12.30 in the 5000 meter run, and 5:43.71 in the one mile run.As a junior in 2012-13, Lauren competed in her third season of indoor track and field. She recorded a not only team-best, but a career-best of 3:32.62 in the 1000-meter run. She also ran a season-best of 11:35.78 in the 3000 meter run. Lauren did not compete in the 5000-meter run this year.

As a senior, Lauren will compete in her fourth season of indoor track and field.

GENERAL OUTDOOR TRACK INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2010-2011, Lauren competed in her first season of outdoor track.  Lauren had season best times of 5:15.23 in the 1500-meter run and 19:04.79 in the 5000-meter run.

As a sophomore in 2011-12, Lauren competed in her second season of outdoor track.  She ran a career-best time in the1500-meter run in a time of 5:11.58.  Lauren had many season bests in times of 2:40.61 in the 800-meter, 11:18.28 in the 3000-meter run, a in the 19:50.33, and a 13:34.17 in the steeplechase.

As a junior in 2012-13, Lauren competed in her third season of outdoor track and field. Lauren competed in the 5000-meter run with a season-best of 5:36.83 in the 1500-meter run at the Marv Frye Invitational. Lauren lettered for the third time in track and field.

As a senior in 2013-14, Lauren will compete in her fourth season of outdoor track and field.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Lauren Hutka grew up in North Ridgeville, Ohio and graduated from Midview High School. Lauren ran cross country and track for four years and earned three letters in cross country and four in track. She also played basketball and was a cheerleader for two years.

In cross country, Lauren was second team All-Conference and All-Lorain County twice (2008 and 2009) and MVP twice (2008 and 2009). In track, she was the MVP in 2010 and also the points champion.
