DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis returned to action for the first time in almost three weeks as it dropped a non-conference match to Ohio Wesleyan University by a final score of 7-2 at the Luttinger Family Tennis Center.
Ohio Wesleyan (9-4) took two of three doubles matches to gain a 2-1 advantage. BW (4-5) got its lone doubles victory as the juniors Shannon Finkenthal (Beachwood) and Kelly Peskura (Strongsville) captured third doubles by a score of 8-4.
The Battling Bishops won five of six singles matches to secure the win. The Yellow Jackets got its lone point as freshman Emily Dahnert (Charlottesville, Va. /The Covenant School) earned her fist collegiate singles victory as she claimed sixth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1.
BW is back in action on Thursday, March 30 when it hosts a rescheduled OAC match against the University of Mount Union on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts at 1 p.m. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 25 but was postponed due to inclement weather.
