Women’s Tennis Serves Up Victory Against Heidelberg

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis won its second Ohio Athletic Conference match of the season with a 7-2 victory against Heidelberg University on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.

BW (6-9, 2-3 OAC) swept doubles action to take an early 3-0 lead. Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Imani Robinson (Cincinnati /School for Creative & Performing Arts) and freshman Liz Radkiewicz (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) claimed first doubles by a score of 8-4.  Senior Claire Watts (Medina/Highland) and freshman Emily Dahnert (Charlottesville, Va. /The Covenant School) took second doubles by a score of 8-0.  Juniors Kelly Peskura (Strongsville) and Shannon Finkenthal (Beachwood) won third doubles by a score of 8-1. 

The Yellow Jackets won the first four singles matches before Heidelberg (3-7, 3-1 OAC) closed out the match by claiming the final two singles matches.  Radkiewicz earned the victory at third singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0.  Peskura claimed fourth singles by identical scores of 6-0.  Dahnert captured fifth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1.  Finkenthal closed out the victory by took sixth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-0.

BW is back in action on Wednesday, April 19 when it travels to Ada for an OAC match against Ohio Northern University on the ONU Tennis Courts at 3:30 p.m.  The Yellow Jackets return home on Saturday, April 22 when they host an OAC match against Capital University at 1 p.m.
