ADA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team was overpowered by No. 14 Ohio Northern University, dropping an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a score of 7-2.

Right from the start, the Polar Bears proved to be the aggressors with three separate corner kicks and an offside call in the first 10 minutes. However, sophomore goalkeeper Emma Bruno (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bethel Park) and the Yellow Jacket back line were able to hold Ohio Northern scoreless until the 20th minute. From that point on, the 14th-ranked team in the country put on an offensive show, scoring three goals in the first half and four goals in the second half as BW struggled to find a rhythm.

Freshman forward Olivia Muldoon (Middleburg Heights/Berea-Midpark) provided all the Yellow Jackets offense, recording the first two-goal game of her career. Sophomore midfielder Kenna Poptic (Dublin/Jerome) assisted on the first goal dropped a pass over the top of the Ohio Northern defenders to where Muldoon was able to score from the right wing just before halftime. The freshman scored her second goal in the 84th minute on a fast break after beating two defenders.

With one game remaining in the regular season, BW moves to 11-6-1 and 4-3-1 in the OAC while Ohio Northern remains at the top of the conference with a 15-1-1 record and a perfect 8-0 conference mark. Despite the loss, the Yellow Jackets still secured a place in the OAC Tournament, who could finish the season as either the No. 4 or No. 5 seed.

BW will travel down to Columbus to take on Capital University in the regular season finale on Friday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. inside Bernlohr Stadium.
