GROVE CITY, Pennsylvania—The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team was defeated, 1-0, by Grove City College in its final non-conference regular season game of the year on College Field.

BW (6-4-1) outshot Grove City (7-2) 17-12 in the contest and put eight shots on goal, but the Wolverines junior goalkeeper Trishae Winters made seven saves to hold the Yellow Jackets scoreless.

Grove City scored the only goal of the game when junior midfielder Lindsay Hutton headed the ball past the BW goalkeeper off a corner kick from senior defender Jordy White at the 24:12 mark.

In the second half, the Yellow Jackets made several plays that almost tied the game up. All-OAC sophomore Rachel Bender (Massillon/Jackson) hit the post in the 64th minute and in the final minute BW almost scored off a corner kick from All-OAC midfielder Anna Poptic (Dublin/Jerome).

Freshman goalkeeper Sophia Weidner (Medina) faced six shots and made five saves for BW.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on October 1 when they begin Ohio Athletic Conference play versus Marietta College on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m.
