DELAWARE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team was seventh at the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational.
BW was seventh of nine teams with 154 points.
"I was pleased with how we looked today," said first-year head coach Joe Eby. "We executed the plan well. We took a nice step forward from our time trial at camp. We still have a lot of work to do, but the team is working hard and we are headed in the right direction. We need to stay healthy and keep plugging away."
The Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC runner Brian Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) as he placed sixth of 100 runners on the 8k course in a season-best time of 26:40.8.
In addition to Brennan, sophomore Brady Jeffers (South Amherst/Firelands) finished the course in a time of 27:51.4 to finish in 25th place. Freshman Phil Spronz (Strongsville) placed 44th in a time of 28:41.4.
BW is idle until Saturday, September 19 when it travels to Westerville to compete in the Otterbein University Invitational at 11 a.m.
