Cross Country Squads Begins 2011 Season

WOOSTER, OHIO --  Junior Ken Janosko (Mentor) won the four-mile run as the Baldwin-Wallace College cross country team opened its 2011 season tonight (Thursday, September 1) at an unscored meet hosted by The College of Wooster Invitational Meet at the L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course in Wooster.

Janosko led the men as he completed the four-mile course in 21:36.89 and was followed by the senior trio of Zachary Szablewski (Tiffin/Calvert) in fifth with a time of 22:18.74, Tom Wilkin (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) in eighth and Brian Gibbons (Rocky River) in 22nd.  The times posted by all four Yellow Jacket runners were career bests.  In the 5K junior David Gerding (Strongsville) led the way for the Yellow Jackets finishing fourth in a time of 17:33.38.  Following him was freshman Greg Blevins (Mentor) in fifth with the time of 17:38.28, senior Drew Beck (Canandaigua Academy) in eighth with the time of 18:17.90, sophomore Stephen Humbert (Middletown/Lakota East) in 13th, and freshman Issac Baker (Lithia, Fla./Newsome) in 20th.
