BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving teams opened the 2015-16 season and were defeated by Wilmington College in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
The Yellow Jackets fell by a score of 131-94.
The men's team was led by junior All-OAC performer Jacob Burk (Bowling Green) and freshman diver Cameron O'Brien (Toledo) each won two events. Burk won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:42.55 and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:12.51. O'Brien won both diving events with a scores of 151.55 and 219.70, respectively.
In addition, sophomore All-OAC performer Tyler Thompson (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) notched a victory and had one runner-up finish. Thompson won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 59.55 seconds and was second in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:08.16. Freshman freestyler Alexander Morrow (Winchester, Va.) was the runner-up and 100-backstroke in a time of 58.09 seconds.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Morrow, Thompson, senior Sean Rudolph, Jr. (Warrensville Heights) and freshman Tyler Allison (Napoleon) won in a time of 1:41.85
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, October 25 when they host a non-conference dual meet against Ohio Wesleyan University in the BW Natatorium at 12 p.m.
