Men’s Swimming and Diving Falls in OAC Dual Meet

BEREA, Ohio--The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team was defeated by Ohio Northern in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

The BW men were defeated by a score of, 171-69.

Swimming strongly today for the Yellow Jackets was senior, Sean Rudolph, Jr. (Warrensville Heights), placing first in the 100-yard fly, in a time of 57.44 seconds. Rudolph, along with sophomore Tyler Thompson (Brecksville-Broadview Heights), senior Nathan Onchuck (Darien, Ill/Hinsdale South), and freshman Alexander Morrow (Winchester, VA/Millbrook) finished second in the 200-yard medley relay with a final wall touch of 1:41.00, which was also a season best for the relay team. Onchuck also placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.07 seconds.

Also swimming strongly for Baldwin Wallace tonight was junior, Jacob Burk (Bowling Green) placing first in the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 17:21.93. Thompson also placed second in the 100-yard breast with a final wall touch of 59.54 seconds, and placed third in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:05.82.

Freshman, Kevin Hartenstein (Hermitage, Pa/Hickory) also swam a season's best, placing second in the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 17:57.59.

The men's swimming and diving teams travel to University Heights on Jan. 23 for an OAC dual meet against cross-town rival John Carroll University inside the William H. Johnson Natatorium.
