Men’s Golf Team Beats Cross-Town Rival John Carroll in Dual at River Greens

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team beat Ohio Athletic Conference and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University in a dual match at the River Greens Golf Club. This was a tune-up prior to next weekend's OAC Championship Tournament at River Greens. 

The Yellow Jackets carded 307 strokes on the par-72 and 6,888-yard River Greens G.C. layout to beat rival JCU by one stroke.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior All-OAC standout Scott Schroeder (Aurora) with a 74. He was joined on the "A" team by freshman Nick Infanti (Clarksburg, Md./ Clarksburg) with a 76, junior All-OAC player Matt Kershner (Independence) with a 78, junior Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/ Christian Community School) and freshman Jason Garnet (North Royalton) each shot 79.

In addition and playing as individuals, freshman Logan Dwelle (Sandusky/ Perkins) shot 80, freshman Hunter Miller (Frankfort/ Adena) and senior Connor Duplin (North Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas) each had 81, freshman Jack Kyle (Bay Village/ Bay) had 82, freshman Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) and senior Aaron Harden (Mentor) each had 86 and freshman Adam Morris (Grafton/ Midview) had a 94.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1 when they return to West Lafayette and the River Greens G.C. for the three-day and 72-hole OAC Championship Tournament. The teams will play 27 holes each of the first two days on Friday and Saturday, April 29-30, and the final 18 holes on Sunday, May 1.

The winner of the OAC Tournament receives the OAC's automatic berth in the NCAA Div. III National Tournament. BW last won the OAC title and advanced to the OAC tourney in 2012.
