BW Men's Golf Team Stands Tied For Sixth After First Day of OAC Spring Invitational

PATASKALA, OHIO-- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team stands tied for sixth of nine teams after the first day today (Sunday, April 17, 2011) of the Ohio Athletic Conference Spring Invitational at the Cumberland Trail Golf Club in Pataskala, Ohio.  The second round will be played tomorrow (Monday, April 18, 2011) with tee times to be announced.


The Yellow Jackets shot a 359-stroke team total to stand tied for sixth and are 23 strokes behind first place Otterbein University. 

BW was led by junior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Padua Fransican) who shot a round of 84 and sophomore Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit), who shot a round of 89. Jaskolski is in a tie for fifth place individually on the par-72, 7,088-yard Cumberland Trails layout.  In addition to the team competition, freshman Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) shot a 92, junior Matt Warren (Copley) carded a 94 and senior Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) had a 97.

Playing as an individual, freshman Chris Nader (Westlake) had a 93.

BW will next play on April 30 and May 1 at the 2011 OAC Championship Tournament at the Rivergreens Golf Club in West Layayette, Ohio.  Tenatively, BW may schedule a tri-match this coming Friday, April 22 at Rivergreens G.C.  More information will follow later in the week on the BW web site.
