BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished second of six schools that participated at the 27-hole and annual John Carroll University Fall Invitational Tournament today (Sunday, September 5, 2010) at the Fowlers Mill Golf Course in Chesterland.

The Yellow Jackets carded a 149-total on the Maple Course and then a 315 total for 18 holes on the Lake/ River Course for a 464 team total. Host John Carroll captured the title with a 453 total and Mount Union College was third at 466. The other teams were NCAA Division II Walsh University, Hiram College and Lakeland Community College.

For the Yellow Jackets senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athlete Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) led the way with a 27-hole total of 114 strokes and tied junior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan) with a low round of 78 on the Lake/ River Course. Jaskolski was second with a 115 total. Both senior Matt Weiss (Concord/ Mentor) and junior Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) tied for third with 120-stroke totals, and Lewis had the low round on the Maple Course with a 35. Sophomore Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) rounded out the starting lineup with a 121.

In addition and playing as individuals, freshman Chris Nader (Westlake) carded a 27-hole total of 129 strokes and junior Scott Rosenau (Amherst/ Steele) had a 131 total.

The Yellow Jacket men will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 7 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to participate in the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational Tournament at the Oakhaven Golf Club, and then plays in the Clarion (Pa.) University Tournament on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 12-13.
