BW Men's Golf Team Stands Third After First Day of Denison Tourney; Final Round on Sunday

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team stands in third place after the first day of the annual Denison University Fall Invitational Tournament today (Saturday, September 5, 2009) at the Granville Golf Club in Granville, Ohio. The second round will be played on Sunday, Sept. 6.

 
The Yellow Jackets carded a round of 308 on the par-71 and 6,559 yard Granville Golf Club layout.
 
Individually for the Yellow Jackets, senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Mike Falk (Strongsville) led the way with a 72 and ranks third individually. Freshman Connor Cronkite (Fairview, Pa./ Cathedral Prep) shot a 75 and sits in a tie for sixth place.
 
Junior Matt Weiss (Mentor) had a 78, sophomore Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Fransiscan Padua) had a 79, sophomore Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) had an 81 and junior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/ St. Joseph Central Catholic).
 
In addition, senior 2-time All-OAC player Nick Bryan (Zanesville/ Rosecrans) and junior Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) each shot rounds of 83.
 
Following tomorrow's final round tomorrow, the Yellow Jackets return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 15 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to participate in the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational Tournament.
