Murphy Receives Sixth Career OAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week Accolade

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace University junior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the sixth time in her phenomenal career.

This weekend, Murphy competed in the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by NCAA Division I Bucknell (Pa.) University. She competed in the 800-meter run and the 1,500-meter run. In the 800-meter, she placed eighth of 148 runners in a time of 2:10.30. Murphy concluded the 1,500-meter run finishing 19th of 87 runners in a time of 4:29.06. Her 800-meter time places her fourth in the nation, and her 1,500-meter time ranks her sixth in the nation. She was among a large variety of Division I and II athletes within her events, and Murphy is ranked first in the OAC in both events.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, April 19 for the Jesse Owens Classic, hosted by NCAA Division I Ohio State University.
