Women's Outdoor Track and Field Finishes Third at Marv Frye Invitational

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Marv Frye Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.

BW placed third out of 11 participating teams with 110 points. Ohio Wesleyan University won the meet with 160 points.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Junior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) won the 400-meter dash in a time of 58.52
  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) finished second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:20.72
  • Freshman Rylee Barno (Columbus / Bexley) placed third in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:22.09

Field events highlights:

  • Freshman Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) won the high jump with a mark of 1.55 meters
  • Freshman All-OAC shot putter Amyah Chosa (Jemez Pueblo, N.M. / Jemez Valley) won the shot put with a distance of 12.36 meters
  • Junior Lilly Johns (Garrettsville / James A. Garfield) finished second in the discus throw with a distance of 38.22 meters

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x400 relay crew, Collier, freshman Alanna Barnett (Sheffield Lake / Brookside), sophomore All-OAC distance runner Katie Plecko (Rootstown) and senior Kamaria Montgomery (Louisville / Canton GlenOak) placed third in a time of 4:15.31

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, April 12 for the Tiffin Track Carnival hosted by Heidelberg University and Tiffin University.
