Matt Curley

Matt Curley begins his 12th season as an assistant wrestling coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2024-25. He has a vast knowledge of the sport and was an outstanding collegiate competitor at Ohio Athletic Conference rival Heidelbeerg University.

Curley, a 2011 Heidelberg graduate, also is one of the key reasons why the Yellow Jackets have won consecutive OAC titles and earned a pair of second place finishes at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Tournament. Prior to coaching at BW, he spent the 2011-2012 season coaching at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.

While at Heidelberg, Curley majored in political science and minored in German. He was a four-year letterman and a two-time OAC champion on a team that won four straight OAC Tournament titles (2007-2008 through 2010-2011) and back-to-back OAC regular season titles (2008-2009 and 2009-2010). He was a three-time NCAA Division III national tournament qualifier and received NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association) All-America Scholar honors in 2010-2011.

In addition, Curley ranks fourth all-time on Heidelberg's all-time victory list with 104 and is 12th all-time for single-season victories. He also participated in track and threw the javelin on the 2009-2010 OAC Championship team.

Curley works for the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court system and he resides in North Olmsted.
